Terms of Use

MAC TRAK — TERMS OF USE Last updated: 12 August 2026 These terms are a contract between you and Mac Trak (“we”, “us”), the operator of the Mac Trak apps and website. Mac Trak includes: • the website https://macrotrack.pages.dev • the iPhone / iPad app • the Mac app • related services (sync, barcode lookup, Mac AI) By creating an account or using Mac Trak, you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Contact: use Contact us in the app (sign-in screen or Settings). 1. What Mac Trak is ------------------- Mac Trak is a personal tracker for food, macros, water, exercise, weight, and measurements. You can search foods, look up barcodes, save recipes, and use Mac AI to estimate a meal from a photo. It is provided for personal, non-commercial use. 2. Not medical advice --------------------- Mac Trak is not a medical device. We are not your doctor, dietitian, or coach. • Calorie and macro numbers (including USDA, barcode, and AI estimates) can be wrong. • Weight and measurement logs are a diary, not a diagnosis. • Goals and similar calculations are rough tools, not a prescription. • Do not use Mac Trak to treat, diagnose, or manage an eating disorder, diabetes, or any medical condition without a qualified professional. If you are unwell, pregnant, under clinical care, or unsure, talk to a professional. If you are in crisis, contact local emergency services — not this app. You use all numbers, suggestions, and AI output at your own risk. 3. Eligibility -------------- You must be at least 13 years old. If you are 13–17, you must have a parent or guardian’s permission. You must be able to form a contract under the law where you live. 4. Your account --------------- You can sign up with email and password, or with Google. You are responsible for: • keeping your password and device reasonably secure • activity on your account • the accuracy of what you log One account syncs across web, iPhone, and Mac. Do not share it. We may refuse, suspend, or close an account that is abusive, illegal, or a risk to the service. 5. Your content --------------- You keep ownership of what you log: meals, notes, photos, recipes, measurements, and messages. You grant us a limited licence to store, sync, display, and process that content only to run Mac Trak for you (including sending photos or text to our AI proxy when you use those features). We do not claim your food diary as our intellectual property. We do not show your diary to other users. Do not upload content you do not have the right to use, or that is illegal, exploitative of minors, malware, or someone else’s private data. Progress photos and avatars are stored in your account. Meal, barcode, and menu photos used for AI are sent for analysis and are not attached to the meal record. 6. Mac AI and food data ----------------------- Mac AI is automated. It can misread a plate, miss a sauce, or invent a food. Barcode and USDA results come from third-party databases. Brands change. Serving sizes differ. Check anything that matters (allergens, medical diets, contest prep) against the actual label or a professional — not the app. 7. Acceptable use ----------------- Do not: • try to break, scrape, or overload the app, website, or AI proxy • access other people’s accounts or data • reverse engineer except where the law allows • use Mac Trak to send spam or to bulk-harvest AI output • impersonate Mac Trak • use the service for anything illegal We may rate-limit or block AI and lookup features if they are abused. 8. Our rights ------------- The Mac Trak name, design, code, and branding belong to Mac Trak (or are used under licence). These terms do not give you ownership of the apps. You may not copy, resell, or redistribute the apps except as Apple’s standard EULA and applicable consumer law allow. 9. Third-party services ----------------------- Mac Trak relies on: • Google Firebase (accounts and cloud sync) • Cloudflare (website and AI / barcode proxy) • USDA FoodData Central (food search) • Formspree (contact form) • Apple (App Store and OS features) • Google (if you use Sign in with Google) • AI providers behind Mac AI (including Gemini and/or Groq) Their outages or changes can affect Mac Trak. Their terms also apply when you use those pieces. 10. Free service ---------------- Mac Trak is currently free, with no ads and no in-app purchases. Features, limits (especially AI), or pricing may change. If we ever charge, we will say so clearly before you pay. Nothing here requires you to pay. 11. Availability ---------------- We do not promise uninterrupted service, perfect sync, or that every food exists in the database. We may update, pause, or retire features. If the whole service shuts down, we will try to give you a chance to export your data first. 12. Export and deletion ----------------------- You can export your data from Settings (JSON) and History (CSV). You can delete your account in Profile. That deletes your login and the associated cloud data we hold for the account. Deleting the app from a device does not by itself delete the cloud account. If in-app delete is unavailable, use Contact us. See the Privacy Policy. 13. Disclaimers --------------- To the maximum extent allowed by law, Mac Trak is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of nutrition data, or uninterrupted service. We do not warrant that AI estimates match a lab or a dietitian. 14. Liability ------------- Nothing in these terms excludes rights you cannot waive, including consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law if it applies to you. Where we are allowed to limit liability, we are not liable for: • indirect or consequential loss • lost data, lost profits, or diet / health outcomes • third-party failures (Google, Cloudflare, USDA, AI providers, Apple) Our total liability for a claim relating to Mac Trak is limited to AUD $0 if the service was free, or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim if you later pay. Export anything you care about keeping. 15. Indemnity ------------- If you misuse the service or break these terms and that causes us a claim, you will cover the reasonable cost of that claim, to the extent the law allows. 16. Termination --------------- You can stop using Mac Trak at any time and delete your account. We can suspend or end access if you break these terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the service. Sections that should survive (intellectual property, disclaimers, liability, governing law) stay in force. 17. Changes to these terms -------------------------- We may update these terms. The “Last updated” date will change. If you keep using Mac Trak after an update, you accept the new terms. If you do not, stop using the service and delete your account. 18. Governing law ----------------- These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. You may still use any mandatory consumer or small-claims rights where you live. 19. Entire agreement -------------------- These terms plus the Privacy Policy are the agreement for Mac Trak. If a court strikes out one part, the rest still applies. Apple is not a party to this contract and is not responsible for Mac Trak. Use of the iOS and Mac apps also follows Apple’s standard licensed application end user licence agreement.
