MAC TRAK — PRIVACY POLICY Last updated: 12 August 2026 This policy explains what Mac Trak collects, why, where it goes, and what you can do about it. Mac Trak is a food and fitness logging app for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and the web at https://macrotrack.pages.dev. One account works across those clients. Who we are ---------- Mac Trak (“we”, “us”) operates the Mac Trak apps and website. Privacy, access, correction, or deletion requests: Use Contact us in the app (sign-in screen or Settings). Web: https://macrotrack.pages.dev Do not send us extra identity documents unless we ask. We do not publish a personal name, email, phone number, or home address on these pages. If you do not agree with this policy, do not create an account or use the service. 1. What this app is (and is not) -------------------------------- Mac Trak helps you log meals, macros, water, exercise, weight, and body measurements. It is a personal tracker, not a medical service. Nothing in Mac Trak is medical, dietary, or clinical advice. AI food estimates are estimates. Always check labels and, if you have a health condition, talk to a qualified professional. 2. Information we collect ------------------------- We only collect what you give us or what the app needs to run. Some of this is sensitive (health-related). We store it only to provide the tracker you asked for. We do not sell it or use it for ads. A. Account • Email address • Password (handled by Google Firebase Authentication; we cannot read it) • Display name • Sign-in method (email/password or Google) • Account creation time B. Profile (optional — only if you enter it) • Age, height, weight, gender, activity level • Profile photo (avatar) C. Your log • Meals and meal items (name, time, category, notes, calories, protein, carbs, fat, fibre, sugar, quantity) • Custom foods and meal templates • Saved recipes • Exercise • Water intake • Supplements • Weight history • Body measurements • Goals • Barcode lookup history • Meal categories • Progress photos you choose to save D. Photos for AI (not saved as part of a meal) • Meal, barcode, menu, and recipe photos you submit for analysis These are sent to our AI proxy to estimate foods or read a barcode. They are not attached to the meal record. Progress photos and your avatar are stored because you asked us to keep them. E. Mac AI • Messages you send • A short slice of recent chat • Today’s calories/protein/goals when needed for context • For deeper analysis: streak, averages, top food names, exercise days, weight trend Week summaries use daily totals, not meal names. F. Contact / feedback • Name, email, and message you submit through Contact or Feedback. G. Device • No advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or crash reporters • No microphone, location, Apple Health, or tracking (IDFA) • Camera / Photos only when you take or pick a photo • Local reminders stay on your device (no server push) • A local copy of your log and session so the app can work offline Mac Trak is currently free. We do not collect payment card details. There are no in-app purchases or ads in this version. If paid features are added later, this policy will be updated before you are charged. 3. How we use it ---------------- • Create and keep your account • Sync your log between phone, Mac, and the website • Show charts, goals, history, and (on Mac) menu-bar macros • Look up packaged foods and USDA food data • Run Mac AI when you use those features • Reply to Contact / Feedback • Keep the service secure and working We do not sell your data. We do not use it for advertising. We do not show your diary to other users. 4. Where it is stored --------------------- Cloud • Google Firebase Authentication — login • Google Cloud Firestore — your private profile, food log, avatar, and progress photos Other users cannot read your document through the app. On your device • A local copy of your log, avatar, settings, and sign-in session inside Apple’s app sandbox • Temporary export/share files Protect your device with a passcode, password, or biometric lock. If you export JSON/CSV or share a poster, that file is under your control once you send it. 5. Who else sees it ------------------- These providers process data so Mac Trak can function. They are not allowed to advertise to you through Mac Trak. • Google — Firebase Auth, Firestore, and Google Sign-In if you choose it • Cloudflare — website and AI / barcode proxy • USDA FoodData Central — food search from your device • Formspree — Contact / Feedback forms • Apple — operating system features (camera, Photos, share sheet, local notifications) • AI / nutrition providers behind Mac AI (including Gemini and/or Groq, and packaged-food lookup) Mac AI We send the image or text needed for that request, plus the small context in section 2E — not your full history with every photo. We do not control how long those providers keep their own logs. Treat AI photos as leaving your device. Optional Gemini or Groq keys you paste in Settings stay on your device in this version. The default Mac AI path still uses our proxy. 6. Legal bases (UK / EU) ------------------------ If those laws apply to you, we process data to provide the service, with your consent (camera, photos, optional profile, AI, Google sign-in), and for security and support. Health-related entries (weight, measurements, diet log, progress photos) are stored only because you chose to log them. 7. Children ----------- Mac Trak is for people 13 or older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you think a child under 13 has an account, use Contact us and we will delete it. 8. How long we keep it ---------------------- • Account and log: until you delete the account • Local copy: until you delete the app (and we also clear it on account deletion) • Contact form: according to Formspree’s retention • AI request payloads: not saved as meals; provider logs are outside our control Deleting the app does not delete the cloud account. Sign out or delete the account separately. 9. Your choices and rights -------------------------- You can: • See and edit your log in the app • Export JSON (Settings) or a 90-day CSV (History) • Turn local reminders on or off • Avoid camera / photos by not using those features • Sign out • Delete your account (Profile) When you delete your account, we delete your login and the associated cloud data we hold for that account (profile, food log, and photos), and we clear the local copy on that device. Use Contact us if in-app delete is unavailable (for example some Google-only sign-ins) or you want us to confirm erasure. Depending on where you live (including the Australian Privacy Act and UK/EU GDPR), you may also ask us to access, correct, erase, restrict, or object to certain processing, or to port your data (the JSON export is the practical copy). We will need to verify that the request is from the account holder. 10. International transfers --------------------------- Firebase, Cloudflare, USDA, and Formspree typically run outside Australia (often the United States). Using Mac Trak means your data is transferred to those providers under their terms. 11. Security ------------ • HTTPS in transit • Signed-in access required to read or write your cloud documents • Apple sandboxing on iPhone, iPad, and Mac No system is perfectly secure. Do not log anything you would not want in a private synced notebook. 12. Third-party sites --------------------- Linked sites (including the Mac Trak website, USDA, and Google sign-in) have their own policies. 13. Changes ----------- We will update the “Last updated” date when this policy changes. If you keep using Mac Trak after a change, you accept the new policy. Material changes will be noted in the app or on the website when we can. 14.
